Throughout history, the evolution of beauty were based on what was promoted in the media that was targeted towards women. Whether its the ideal female body shape or applying makeup for flawless skin, women everywhere wanted to achieve the perfect image. it is also said that we are a two-body society where one is an advertising medium, or the media’s mainstream and the other, is what you see on the street. There is also an controversy of how we all perceive beauty and where different sub-cultures of the media either fixates on thin or well-proportioned women or a mixture of both to suggest natural beauty. To me, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and in the collage of images that I demonstrated women of different body types and ethnicity with an message to inspire women to be comfortable in the own skin.

It been said that Betsey Johnson is going broke. Yes, broke. Who would’ve thought THE Betsey Johnson is broke and owes a lot of money that she can’t remburse. So, Steve Madden–who already owns the license to sell handbags under Johnson’s name–has taken over a $48.8 million loan to Johnson’s firm. That means if she cannot pay him back by August 20, 2012, Madden will own the Betsey Johnson brand. Personally, I love the original Betsey Johnson designs – yet  it seems like Betsey doesn’t even design the stuff anymore if everything is licensed out. Very disappointing.

Ainsi, Steve Madden-qui possède déjà la licence pour vendre des sacs à main sous le nom de Johnson, a pris plus d’un prêt 48,8 millions de dollars à la firme Johnson. Cela signifie que si elle ne peut pas le payer en retour par le 20 août 2012, Madden sera propriétaire de la marque Betsey Johnson. My internship post I promised you in a earlier post. When I chose to get into fashion writing, I didnt know what I was doing. I researched and researched, and I didnt get a clear answer. I then realized that this isnt like going about being a doctor. I bought the book, Teen Vogue Handbook, and I finally knew where I should get my start. So, I went on craigslist and contacted so many potential interners and I got rejected so many times until Suzanne, took me into her arms and allowed me to get my feet wet into this business. What I experienced that it isnt easy, and I can see my self growing gradually into this business. I see myself loving and continue to nurture this business into the next generation.

Burberry’s new cosmetics line, Burberry Beauty, will be launching this month. Known for it’s plaid, it will be the theme for this make-up. The price for a lip pencil is $24, while a foundation compact is $59. Other products include eye shadow, lip gloss, lipstick, mascara, eyeliner, liquid foundation, powder, bronzer, and blush.  “Like the trenchcoat, it can be worn anywhere and at any time,” Burberry’s creative director, Christopher Bailey, told WWD. Aside from YSL, Burberry’s is also going to be on my favorite list.

And Bebe wins the world cup. If you are in new york, you’ll see Bebe ads around the city. I thought this was different to kick off the summer with these ads.

How ironic? The FIFA World cup is going on now.

I know I have been slacking off a bit, but hey, it’s the moving week! My internet has been cut off since we will be leaving tomorrow and have 14 hours on the road in front of me. Also, I will be getting my own laptop while I’m on the go in the city. Not to mention, I did get an internship! It’s an online publication, ZTrend, Where I will be doing sample sales and working on an upcoming project. Those who are looking for an internship in the field of writing, I talk about it in a later post.

Video feedback: I think some of the pieces of the collection could’ve been showcased with curvier models. And speaking of models, I don’t know if it were shoes or something, but some of these models cant walk! They looked stiff and somewhat unnatural.
